Yesterday, we had an epic failure under the sink. Thankfully we were home when it happened. One of the steel braided hoses to the kitchen sink faucet exploded, soaking the whole underneath of the sink and draining down into the basement through the floor. Today I went to start Biv's weed whip. I did this yesterday and today because she's been having so much trouble starting it. When I started it yesterday, it started like a champ. I began the project of replacing my cellar bulkhead today. I bought the wood I knew I would need (with Ryther's help) and began disassembling the doorway. My father and I built the one that I'm taking off when we first moved in, in '94, so this one has lasted pretty well. But over time the wood has rotted near the bottom, so it's time for a new one ( Read more... )

The thing I hate about days like this is that you cant trust them. You start the morning with thunder and lightning and dark clouds come and go all day, with sprigs of sunshine for a few moments.
